Home Remedy for Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are one of the most common ailments among adults especially those who are thirty to forty years old. This refers to the abnormal swelling of blood vessels within the anal area. Hemorrhoids are also called piles, and they have two major types: those that are internal, which are found deep within the anal canal and those that are external, which stick out from the rectum. Constipation, lifting heavy things, too much sitting, and pregnancy are the major causes of this ailment.
There are several ways to treat hemorrhoids, and the first of which can be done at home. This kind of treatment, aptly named home remedy for hemorrhoids, serves as the initial solution to the said health problem. Certain foods, for instance, can be a good cure for hemorrhoids. One example of such foods are figs, which are soft fleshy fruits that are colored purple or green. An individual can soak three to four dry figs in clean water overnight and consume them before having breakfast in the following morning. Another food remedy is white radish. A person can grate a few pieces of white radish and mix it with honey. He should take two to three spoonfuls of this homemade remedy two or three times a day.
Aside from the said foods, water therapy can be used in treating hemorrhoids. An individual has to fill his tub with cold water up to his chin and he needs to sit in the tub for an hour. He preferably has to do this two times a day. In addition, he can apply cold compress to his anus for approximately one hour before sleeping at night.
